Visit the i-Trans booth at the SIFER rail-industry exhibition to discover four exciting R&D projects under way at the cluster:
- AXE’s develops electromagnetic toilet locking systems, with design and ergonomic features integrating tactile and visual information to meet the needs of passengers with disabilities. To this end, locking systems specialist Devismes has teamed up with ESIEE, the electronic-engineering institute in Amiens.
Project leader: Devismes
- BLASTROBOT focuses on surface treatment technologies, in particular blasting, mainly for applications in rolling stock construction. The aim is to develop a robotics solution for Getrasur’s new generation of turnkey blasting halls
Project leader: Getrasur
- ULTIMAT is dedicated to developing new solutions that combine metals and composite materials for the next generation of rolling stock. The aim is innovation that can give the French rail industry, particularly well represented in Northern France, an edge on the competition.
- W3M, for “Wheel Mobile Milling Machine”, is a project focused on safety solutions for freight-wagon wheels damaged as a result of faulty braking, and correcting the multiple vibrations caused by wheel distortion. This involves attenuating flattening of the wheel tread and removing metal burrs with a milling machine temporarily mounted on the track.
Project leader: Sogema Engineering
